Effect of Structure on the Electro-thermal Properties of Silver Plated Yarn Knitted Fabrics
In order to investigate the influence of knitted fabric structures on the electric heating performance, six kinds of knitted fabrics with different patterns(plain,1×1 rib,1×1 purl,interlock,1×3 terry,1×1 mock rib)with the same sizes were knitted with silver-plated yarns, the maximum load current, heating speed, thermal uniformity and thermal stability energy between knitted fabrics with different structures were tested and analyzed. It is found that different structures have influence on the electro-thermal performance of knitted fabrics, among which the interlock fabric rises from room temperature to 33.5 ℃ within 7 minutes after applying 0.9 V of voltage, and the steady-state temperature reaches 37.3℃,the surface temperature distribution coefficient is lower than 0.017 within 30 minutes, the resistance change rate is lower than 3.3%within 90 minutes, the heating rate is fast, the thermal uniformity is high, and the heat production is stable, which is proved to be a more suitable structure for knitting electric heating knitted fabric. The results of the study provide a certain reference for the design and development of knitted electric heating garments.
