The restructuring of the right of exhibition in the age of context
The advent of the age of context has increasingly highlighted the inadequacies of the existing right of exhibition in adapting to technological development. From the perspective of textual interpretation, the right of exhibition stipulated in China's Copyright Law only governs offline physical exhibitions and cannot extend to the new forms of exhibition that have emerged in the age of context. The new forms of exhibition brought about by technological development are increasingly surpassing or even replacing offline exhibitions, which has rendered the current definition of the right of exhibition unable to keep pace with social development. In order to prevent the provisions of the right of exhibition from becoming nominal,it is essential to restructure these provisions, establish a public display right to comprehensively govern the new exhibition forms arising from new technological advancement, and explicitly exclude the exhibition forms that fall under the categories of projection right and information network dissemination right.
