Cuixin Riddle Society,a folk lantern riddle activity organization set up in Xiamen during the Republic of China,had a significant influence throughout the country.It was established in 1914 and ceased in 1938,lasting for 25 years.Its mem-bers usually consist of more than ten people,with a peak of up to dozens.After the victory of the War of Resistance against Japa-nese Aggression,several leaders of the Society reunited in Xiamen and together with Jiang Laoyu,a new member,were known as the"Four Bright Spring Lanterns"and"Five Seniors of Spring Lanterns".The Society has similarities with other riddleclubs in terms of activities and its own characteristics.The activity was not limited to verbal forms,but actively involved ideological and cultural public awareness activities,fully playing the positive social role of lantern riddles.
