Textual Research on the Dissemination of Yi Kuai Xuan Anthology in Daoguang Version
Gao Shuran was a famous scholar studying ancient classics in Fujian Province during the reign of Jiaqing and Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, whose works were praised by his contemporary and later scholars such as Zhou Kai,Xie Zhangting, and Chen Yan.According to The Book of Peddler's Journal,Gao's book Yi Kuai Xuan Anthology was finished in the early reign of Daoguang and was disseminated in the form of a manuscript, which is the earliest known copy, namely"Daoguang Version".The book was first viewed by Zhang Kun,Chen Shouqi and other close friends and then came into the hands of Yang Jun,before being borrowed by Xie Zhangting for transcription. It has been proved that the 30-volume version in the Fujian Pro-vincial Library is based on Xie's transcription. As the earliest known copy, its title, chapter names, and text are different from the seventy-four-volume manuscript by Gao Shuran in his later years, but it has its unique documentary and historical value.
