Nederlandsch-Chineesch Woordenboek met de Transcriptie der Chineesche Karakters in het Tsiang-Tsiu Dialekt-complied by Dr.G.Schlegel,a Dutch sinologist,130 years ago,has been a Minnan dialect dictionary with the most pages,reflect-ing the dialect of Longxi area of Zhangzhou in the late nineteenth century.This essay focuses on the phonetic systems,summariz-ing and sorting out the consonants,vowels and tones,and lists the homophony syllabary of about 8000 words.Comparing them with the homophony syllabary of modern Zhangzhou dialect,the author finds that the pronunciation structure of Zhangzhou dia-lect has been relatively stable in the past 130 years,and the new elements brought by language contact are usually presented in an overlapping way.Some[iũ]rhyme characters in modern Zhangzhou dialect have changed into[iɔ̃]rhyme.
