The discourse of national character critique,revolving around the enlightenment modernity,is both a mechanism of self-deconstruction and construction under the premise of"national salvation and enlightenment",and a complex representa-tion in the interactive field of cross-cultural dialogue between the East and West.Dialogicity enables the thought of national char-acter to transcend the subject-object structure in"power discourse",delving into the relations of intersubjectivity,ensuring its sub-ject position as both"the observer and the observed"and"a participant in the discourse".By adopting an"extrinsic perspective",it breaks free from the limitations of the endogenous framework of traditional culture,endowing itself with the effectiveness of self-reflection.
