An Examination on theVersions of Yue Ke's Ting Shi
Ting Shi,written by Yue Ke of the Southern Song Dynasty, has long been considered to have its original version as the seven-volume incomplete Song edition housed in the National Library of China. Recently,"The Chinese Recreated Rare Books Project" has released a Song edition with Yuan and Ming repairs of the book and another Song edition with Yuan and Ming repairs, previously collected by Gong Xinzhao, hascurrently been held in the Shanghai Library. These two versions are ex-tremely precious as their fonts, layout, and content are highly consistent, likely originating from the same set of original plates. The two versions corroborate each other and can restore the complete original version of the Song edition. Once the original edi-tion is clarified, the publication time of the book can be inferred, and its edition lineage can be re-examined.
