From Thorn to Elegance:Changes of Su Shi's Joking Writing in the Song Dynasty Notes
In the notes of the Song Dynasty,Su Shi's satirical writing matured as early as the Yuan You Period, but it was reinter-preted in different contexts, and the connotation of satire was deconstructed in transmission. In the early notes by Song people,Su Shi's sarcastic remarks were too harsh and even vulgar. It gradually became more refined, and the satirical writing shifted from direct expo-sure,ridicule,and satire to a game of words, and towards ideological and political narrative, highlighting its upright character. The reasons for this were roughly influenced by two aspects:culture and politics, including the serious development of narrative in the con-text of Song studies and the influence of political re-evaluation since the Southern Expedition. The cultural information reflected in Su Shi's satirical writing, which had been repeatedly interpreted by the Song people, surpassed the satirical language itself and was more in line with the audience's psychology.
