The Construction of Modern Civilization of Chinese Nation from the Perspective of Western Modernity
Promoting the localization of foreign cultures is one of the fundamental ways to build modern civilization of Chinese na-tion.This approach can be summarized as follows:critically absorbing the civilization achievements of western modernity,and exploring the ideological concepts and spiritual beliefs that influence and shape Chinese people in cultural traditions,so as to establish the way for modern Chinese people to settle down.The problem or crises of western modernity are mainly manifested in the two extremes of hu-man deification and human materialization.After abandoning the illusion of subjectivism,scientism and materialism,the concept of mo-dernity still has its legitimacy.The human emotion and humanitarian spirit condensed from the thousands of years of life experience of Chinese people,as well as the historical consciousness of recognizing the relationship between the present and the tradition as"kin-ship",not only indicate the roadmap for Chinese people to confirm the spiritual connection with the cultural traditions at present,but also contain the"hope principle"facing modernization,the world and the future.
