On the symbolization and cultural significance of Ji Kang's Image in the Liu-Song Period
The multi-dimensional interpretation and construction of the image of ji Kang as a famous scholar was mainly completed in the Liu-Song Period.Chen Shou's Annals of The Three Kingdoms briefly recorded Ji Kang,and Liu-Song Period was the most im-portant stage in the writing of Ji Kang's deeds.In the Liu-Song Period,Ji Kang's image was more fixed,showing the characteristics of cultural symbols.They visualized the image of Ji Kang by painting,immoblized it by literary description,and strengthened it by liter-ary symbols such as"Ji Shengqin".Compared with the artistic,aesthetic,utilitarian and pure appreciation and praise of Ji Kang in the Western and Eastern Jin Dynasties,Liu-Song scholar's acceptance and understanding of Ji Kang had its deep political motivation.Their remembrance of Ji Kang not only reflected the confrontation with the reality,but also the need to obtain emotional resonance,self-relief and spiritual sustenance,thus completing Ji Kang's three-dimensional multiple artistic images and cultural symbols,which had a far-reaching influence.
