Xing Dong and Construction and Spread of Shanzuo Calligraphy Discourse
The sense of cultural identity and competition among regions increasingly enhanced in the late Ming Dynasty.In order to revitalize Shanzuo calligraphy and construct its discourse,the literati elites there represented by Xing Dong,relying on regional cultural resources dominated by"Two Wangs",actively carried out ancient practice and promoted the antique calligraphy style,which contribu-ted to the development trend of regional calligraphy diversification at that time.Guided by the cultural consciousness of recording and inheriting local contexts,Xing Dong also actively participated in local cultural activities.He built a discourse platform to defend the re-gional cultural tradition of Shanzuo,and promoted the spread of Shanzuo calligraphy with the core of reviving and advocating the ancient style of Wei and Jin Dynasties.
