Water Resource Development and Environmental Impact in the Huangyun Region of Shandong Province During the Ming and Qing Dynasties
Environmental change is an important perspective for understanding the relationship between humans and the environ-ment.The Huangyun area in Shandong was a typical geographical unit, and its water resource development was a systematic project that includes springs, rivers, and lakes, manifested as the interconnection of various elements. With the enhanced role of the canal, the gradual expansion of the purpose and scope of water resource development,a pattern of simultaneous management of multiple rivers was formed. The changes in the"Five Pai"of springs and the"Four Waters"of transportation indicated that more and more springs and rivers had been incorporated into the canal management system. The history of water resource development in the Huangyun area of Shandong during the Ming and Qing Dynasties was a history of human intervention in the environment under the leadership of the state, and the overall idea was to serve the national policy of governing the Yellow River and protecting the Grand Canal. The environmental changes in the development of water resources in the Huangyun area of Shandong Province were the result of the combined effects of va-rious natural and human factors, demonstrating the complexity of the human environment relationship of governing rivers for transpor-ting.Taking history as a lesson,it can be found that the management of rivers, canals, lakes and springs is a systematic project,so wa-ter resource allocation should be balanced and reasonable, taking into account water environment and water safety, improving the effi-ciency and effectiveness of the utilization of water resources and avoiding falling into the Matthew effect, where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
