A Study on the Correct Evaluation of Mao Zedong's Methodology——Commemorating the 130th Anniversary of Mao Zedong's Birth
Important figures in the history of the Party and the country are the primary markers and important components of our bitter but glorious history.Whether to work for the interests of the vast majority or the very few is the watershed and touchstone for distinguishing between all true and false Marxism,true and false socialism,true and false Communist Party,true and false proletarian leaders,and true and false Communists.The science of history has a distinct class and party character,and the evaluation of important figures likewise has a different class and party character;in order to make a proper and correct evaluation of important figures in the history of the Party and the country,in the final analysis,it is necessary to apply the Marxist method of class analysis.Only by scrutinizing the major events and important figures in the history of the Party and the country from the height of the world view and methodology of Marxism,i.e.,historical materialism,and with a broad vision and a broad mind,is it possible to clear away the fog and prejudice of the idealistic view of history and religious ethics,and to return the essential content and essential truth of the splendid history to history,and to the major events and important figures of history.Marxism in no way denies the special role played by individuals,especially important figures,under certain historical conditions.Mao Zedong's life was a life of unremitting struggle for the revolutionary utilitarianism of the proletariat with the unity of the present and future interests of the broadest masses,who account for more than ninety percent of the entire population of China,as the starting point,and with the broadest and farthest goal in mind.It is for this reason that General Secretary Xi Jinping spoke highly of Mao Zedong at the outset of his speech at a symposium commemorating the 130th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Mao Zedong,saying,"Comrade Mao Zedong is a great Marxist,a great proletarian revolutionist,a strategist,and a theorist,a great pioneer in the Sinicization of Marxism,a great founder of the cause of socialist modernization in China He is a great patriot and national hero of China since modern times,the core of the first generation of the Party's central leadership,a great man of the generation who led the Chinese people to radically change their destiny and the face of their country,and a great internationalist who has made great contributions to the liberation of the oppressed peoples of the world and the cause of progress of mankind".
