The Political Science Base for National Security Studies
It is significant for a discipline's construction to clarify its attribute.As an emerging discipline,the national security study needs its own theoretical basement and research paradigm,although both of the theoretical basement and research paradigm are still absent because of the broadness of areas and interdisciplinary complexity.Political science provides anchor points for national security studies to integrating the fundamental theories of interdisciplinary studies.The national security studies can be seen as a part of political science in a broad sense.As the direction idea of national security studies,the holistic national security view contains the features of state and political nature.The nature of national security study can be given by state power theory to make a comprehensive interpretation.Meanwhile,based on domestic and foreign experiences,the establishment of national security discipline is the result of political practices and the development of political scientific agenda.From the macroscopic and middle level,political science could provide the national security study's basic theories and research paradigm.On the contrary,the establishment of national security discipline could also promote the political science's integration and the realistic orientation.It is assistant on establishment of Chinese autonomous political knowledge system.
