Survey and Analysis on Bamboo Folk Utilization in Thailand
The basic utilizing situation of bamboo resources in Thailand was surveyed from the aspects of bamboo and folk houses, bamboo and utensils, bamboo and diets, bamboo and musical instruments, and bamboo spiritual culture, etc.by using the method of collecting literature, questionnaire, field trips.The survey was conducted in four cities (Ayutthaya, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Chiang Mai) in northern Thailand and the capital city Bangkok, during our visit in Thailand Kasetsart University.The results showed that the bamboo is very widely used in Thailand, and has been playing an important role in many aspects of local people′s lives.It can be said that the people′s lives can not be separated from the bamboo.While in the aspect of bamboo spiritual culture, related data and records are less, and local people did not know much about it.By contrast, China is much richer in this aspect.
