According to JCW (August 9, 2007), China boasted a total methanol production capacity of 5.4 Mt/a in 2005 and a total methanol capacity of 10 Mt/a in 2006. With the quick development of China's methanol industry, the total methanol capacity including that of existing units, units under construction and planned grassroots methanol units will reach 60 Mt/ a by 2010 and 70 Mt/a by 2015.
