Russia's largest nickel, copper and precious metals producer Norilsk Nickel in the first quarter of 2002 sold 96 percent of its copper exports and 64 percent of nickel to end-users, Norilsk Nickel's General Director Mikhail Prokhorov told an annual shareholder meeting in Moscow. Prokhorov said Norilsk Nickel's aim was to reduce its dealings with trade intermediaries. He said in 2001 over 90 percent of copper exported and 50 percent of nickel were sold through traders.
