Tin prices' slide below 4,000 US dollars a metric ton for the second time in the year should prompt tin producers to join efforts in curtailing output to prop up prices, an industrial source affiliated with a major tin producer in Asia said. "I don't think prices will bounce back to 4,500 US dollars/ton. There's more room for producers to cut output, or else tin prices could drop below 3,900 US dollars/ton," the source said. Current tin prices are below the production costs of most tin producers, he said.
