A mathematical model of the CAS-OB process hasbeen developed. The model is based on fundamental transportequations and includes the solution of three phases (liquid steel,liquid slag and gas). Model predictions have been compared tophotographs of the open eye size of the gas plume and agreement hasbeen found to be good.
