Japan's domestic sales of copper cable and wire products continued to slide in May from year-earlier levels but the 4 percent fall indicates a slowdown from declines seen earlier this year, the Japanese Electric Wire & Cable Makers' Accusation said. The association however said it is too early to predict whether sales will rebound soon. "We need at least a few months more to see the real trend," the association spokesman said. According to the association's June report, sales of copper cable and wire products are estimated to have fallen around 4 percent on year to a preliminary 61,800 tons in May.
