Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Japan's fourth largest zinc producer, agreed to lower this year's benchmark zinc Treatment Charge to 170 dollars a metric ton from 190 dollars/ton last year, due to supply tightness in the world's zinc concentrate market, a company official said.Treatment Charges are the fees levied by smelters for processing miners' concentrates into refined metal, and are based on a London Metal Exchange cash price of 1,000 dollars/ton.
