Russian commercial banks will export about 125 metric tons of gold this year, 14 percent more than in 2001, Sergey Koshuba, head of the precious metals committee at the Association of Russian Banks, said in Moscow. Koshuba said out of this year's expected domestic gold output of 175 tons, the production of 125 tons would be financed by 50-55 commercial banks. "Practically all the gold purchased by commercial banks will be exported over the course of the year," he added.
