Isolation and Characterization of Anti-Inflammatory Lignans from Oenanthe javanica

A new lignan, named 1-phenylpropenoate-4,8′-lignan A (1), and three known lignans (2–4) were isolated from Oenanthe javanica (Blume) DC. for the first time. The structures of compounds 1–4 were determined by extensive spectroscopic data analysis and comparison with reported references. Compounds 1–4 were evaluated for their inhibitory activity against LPS-induced NO production in RAW264.7 cells. Among them, compounds 1 and 2 showed certain anti-inflammatory activities with IC50 values of 4.09 ± 0.52 and 6.24 ± 0.64 mM, respectively.
