Travancore Titanium Products (TTPL) is suffering losses due to lowering of import duty on titanium dioxide from 35 percent to 30 percent. MD of the company Mr. V. Bashir said that China was selling titanium dioxide at Rs 42,000 per ton against the company's price of Rs 62,000 per ton. The company had made a profit of Rs 28 million in 2000-01 but may suffer a loss during 2001-02.
