Yamaha Motor Co. has developed an aluminum casting technology capable of making aluminum parts 30 percent lighter than existing ones, the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported last Wednesday. The technology will be used for engine parts production at Yamaha and will be provided to other firms. The technology allows the injection of melted aluminum evenly into a mold in a very short time by sucking out tile air contained in tile mold.
