No talks between workers and staff have been scheduled in strike by unionized workers at Canadian miner Noranda Inc.'s Horne copper smelter in Rouyn-Noranda, northwest Quebec, a company spokesman told. A conciliator has been appointed to contact all relevant parties. "The facility is still producing at well below 50 percent of capacity, and no meetings have been arranged, with it a public holiday in Quebec Monday," the spokesman said. Noranda declared force majeure on copper concentrates from the Horne smelter late.
