India's diamond exports have recorded a 40 per cent growth during the first two months (April-May) of the current financial year. Diamond exports during the past two months have surpassed 1bn dollar, sending total exports by the gem and jewellery sector to a high of 1.18bn dollars, a 40 per cent increase over exports worth 841.23m dollars recorded during the same period last year, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council chairman Sanjay Kothari said.
