China's biggest tin producer Yunnan Tin Co. Ltd. targets to produce 24,000 metric tons of tin this year-its normal yearly output target-following a production cutback last year, the company's spokesman said. "Last year was an exception because tin prices were very low. This year we plan to produce 24,000 tons as usual," the spokesman told. In June and July of 2001, Yunnan Tin reduced output by a combined 3,500 tons, which resulted in last year's total output of 20,500 tons.
