Effective modal excitation on inclined surface by EMAT coil parameter investigation

The design optimization of coil parameters of meander line coil EMAT was investigated to excite a specific mode of guided waves on an inclined surface of a plate. 2D simulation was performed to show the modal excitation due to wavelength change with thickness variation of plate. The coil pitch distance was gradually changed considering wavelength variation with the thickness change. The ratio between coil width and coil pitch was studied to generate an efficient specific mode of guided waves on an inclined surface.
