A new benzenoid, liriodenchic acid (1), along with nine known compounds that include two aporphine alkaloids, liriodenine (2) and (–)-anonaine (3); two lignans, (+)-syringaresinol (4) and (+)-yangambin (5); and five benzenoids, p-hydroxybenzoic acid (6), vanillic acid (7), vanillin (8), syringic acid (9), and syringaldehyde (10), were isolated from the leaves of Liriodendron chinense (Magnoliaceae). These compounds were characterized and identified by physical and spectral evidences.
