Germany's Norddeutsche Affinerie AG said that itself and China's second largest copper producer, Yunnan Copper Company Ltd., are considering a possible cooperation venture following visits by delegations to each other's operations. "As part of its growth strategy Norddeutsche Affinerie is targeting product deliveries to China and also sees a possible course of action in launching production activities there," Norddeutsche Affinerie said. "China is the copper market of the future. Accordingly, in the last six years alone, copper demand there has doubled," Norddeutsche Affinerie added. The Chinese are interested in "efficient process and environment technology," Norddeutsche Affinerie said, adding that the company believes it "has the necessary know-how for this."
