The amount of copper in automobiles will continue to grow but at a slow pace, despite the 3 percent-6 percent growth in cable content seen in vehicles annually, the commodity manager at Delphi Automotive Systems said. "We've seen a rise in cable content but not in copper content - we're seeing thinner cables and smaller conductors used in order to reduce weight and mass," said Jim Salois, commodity manager at Delphi Automotive Systems, at the American Metal Market copper forum.
