The experiment was conducted during rabi season of 1998-99 at the Agricultural Research Farm, of Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. The coccinellid and syrphid fly were observed as an established predator on mustard aphid. The correlation of abioticfactors with both, the prey (aphid) and predators' revealed that maximum temperature have negative and significant relationship with mustard population whereas, it was positive for coccinellid. In case of syrphid fly temperature manifested positive and highly significant relationship. As far as concerned with these two predators, maximum relative humidity showed significantly positive relationship with the change in aphid population. Hence, it is inferred that abiotic factors favouring prey population are not responsible for the increase in predators density.
