A spurt in gold prices has resulted in Indians queuing up at jewellery showrooms to sell gold jewellery. Almost 15 tons of gold jewellery is being sold off every month. The trend started about three months back when gold prices in the global markets started shooting up. This is an unusual phenomenon as Indians are known to be buyers of gold jewellery, not sellers. But the temptation to sell jewellery is too strong right now. Gold prices of a TT bar (ten tola) have jumped by 11 percent to 326 dollars now from 299.55 dollars on March 11.
