Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (ARBL) has reported a net profit of Rs 0.38 billion (Rs 38 million) for the quarter ended June 2002 compared to Rs 0.32 billion (Rs 32 million) posted in the same quarter last yea. The net sales of the company stood at Rs 371 million compared to Rs 233 million for the same period. The company's interest burden was lower at Rs 0.74 million (Rs 7.4 lakh), down from Rs 1 million (Rs 10.5 lakh) during the period. The depreciation during the quarter stood at Rs 27.5 million (19.5 million).
