Laboratory and field trails were conducted to find out the effect of seed size on seed storage, seed quality and field performance in mustard cv.Pusa Bold. The study revealed that seed size was positively related to germination, seedling dry weight, vigour index, but not consistently to the final seed yield. Seed recovery percent with different size grade was maximum with the sieve size 1.9 to 2.4 mm which constituted 76% of the bulk and rest 24% was mixture of large, small and very-small seed. In the present study germination percentages of seed bulks are often very higher 90-94%. Hence, grading may be beneficial in case of precision sowing and to get uniform field stand or desired plant population under stress conditions.
