Russia's nickel exports in January-June doubled to 162,100 metric tons, compared to the corresponding period in 2001, an official at the State Customs Committee said in Moscow. All the nickel was exported to countries outside the Commonwealth of Independent States and was worth 947 million dollars, compared to 520 million dollars in January-June 2001. Primary aluminium exports in January-June was 1.448 million tons, 5.8 percent less than in January-June 2001. The exported aluminium was worth 1.51 billion dollars, compared to 1.88 billion dollars in January-June 2001. Out of the total aluminium exports, only 4,300 toils, worth 7.1 million dollars, was exported to CIS countries. Refilled copper exports in January-June was 231,100 toils, 21 percent less than in January-June 2001. The exported copper was worth 315.1 million dollars, compared to 468 million dollars in January-June 2001. Out of the total copper exports, 227,800 toils was exported to countries outside tile CIS. Copper exports outside the CIS was worth 310.7 million dollars, compared to 465 million dollars in January-June 2001.
