Secretary seeks participation from South Africa and Ghana to develop India's mining industry

Dr A K Kundra, Secretary, Ministry of Coal and Mines, Department of Mines, has invited leading companies of South Africa and Ghana to participate in the development of the Indian mining industry. Dr Kundra is leading a 15-member mining mission, organised by CII, in South Africa and Ghana from 26th June to 5th July, 2002, to promote business opportunities in the Indian mining sector and explore new emerging technologies and possible areas of cooperation with these countries. While making a presentation on the 'Overview and Opportunities in Indian Mining Sector' in South Africa and Ghana, Dr Kundra said that with the establishment of a strong legal system and liberalisation of Indian Mining Policy, there lies vast opportunities for both domestic and foreign players to set up production facilities as well as tap markets.
