查看更多>>摘要:World bauxite trade valued at $ 3.07 bn in 2015. According to the recently published Research and Markets report, the global aluminium ore and concentrate trade amounted to 3077 mill. USD in 2015, exhibiting noticeable fluctuations over the period under review. A significant drop in 2009 was followed by volatile recovery over the next four years, until exports decreased again. Overall, there was an annual increase of 5.5 % from 2007 to 2015. Australia was the global leader in the supplies of aluminium ores and concentrates. In 2015, Australia's aluminium ore and concentrate exports totalled 778.1 mill. USD, which accounted for a 25 % share of global exports. Malaysia, Guinea, Brazil, and India were the other key global suppliers of aluminium ores and concentrates in 2015, with a 59 % combined share of global exports. Malaysia (+100.4 %/a) and Australia (+21.4 %/a) were the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2015. Malaysia significantly strengthened its position in the global export structure, growing its share from 0.14 % in 2007 to 23 % in 2015. On the other hand, China (59 %, based on value terms),USA (9 %), Ireland (5 %), Spain (4 %),and Ukraine (4 %) were the leading destinations of aluminium ore and concentrate imports in 2015. Imports to China grew at a rapid pace of +14.1 %/a from 2007 to 2015. By contrast, the USA slightly contracted its imports of aluminium ores and concentrates over the same period. China's share of global imports increased by 29 percentage points, while the share of the USA illustrated negative dynamics (-6 percentage points).
查看更多>>摘要:RUSAL announces the launch of lighter, more compact and efficient RA-550 pot. UC RUSAL has launched the first RA-550 pot of new generation running at over 550 kA at the Sayanogorsk aluminium smelter (Figure 1). The US$ 28 mill, project is expected to make the aluminium smelting process at RUSAL significantly energy-efficient. An RA-550 cell consumes around 12 kWh/kg of aluminium unlike the previous generations which would consume almost 10 to 15 % more metal. As per RUSAL's design documents, the production capacity of each pot is 4.21 t/d, twice the daily output of an RA-300 pot that is currently being used at SAZ. RUSAL has plans to use RA-550 for the modernization of current facilities as well as for constructing new smelters in the future. RUSAL made sure that the RA-550 is way lighter, more compact and environmentally less harmful due to the design and technical improvements done on it. The aluminium maker expects the exhaust gas treatment efficiency will now reach 99 % as pot tending has been automated wherever it was possible. RUSAL has plans to start four more RA-550 pots at the pilot area at SAZ before the end of the year, and three more in 2017. "The physical launch of RA-550 is genuinely a technical and engineering breakthrough," said RUSAL Technical Director Victor Mann. "The startup of this first pot confirms that with new technical solutions we managed to eliminate the previously existing limitations to continue increasing the pot amperage to beyond 1 MA. Also, their smaller size means we can in-stall eight RA-550 pots within an area where only seven S-255 pots fitted in." RUSAL started developing the RA-550 technology two years ago and project was aimed at maximizing the use of equipment and materials produced domestically as part of the ongoing national import substitution programme. The key contractors engaged with the project included Russian Engineering Company, which not only manufactured and installed cathode shells and busbar but also set the pilot area. The start-up of the new pot marks an important milestone for the aluminium producer. The project involved state financing from the Industry Development Fund and the Ministry of Education and Science.

Kupfer und andere Nichteisenmetalle können im Bergwerk nicht vollständig abgebaut werden, auch bei der folgenden metallurgischen Aufbereitung bleibt ein Teil der Wertmetalle übrig. Die Rückstände werden auf Abraumhalden gelagert. Das neue deutschpolnische Forschungsprojekt NOMECOR hat die beiden Ziele, sowohl die Metalle zurückzugewinnen als auch die mineralischen Haldenbestandteile für die Herstellung von Zement nutzbar zu machen. Das Forschungsprojekt wird durch das BMBF für drei Jahre mit ca. 500 000 € gefördert. Koordiniert wird es durch das Helmholtz-Institut Freiberg für Ressourcentechnologie (HIF) am HZDR sowie das polnische Institut für Nichteisen-Metallurgie (IMN).

Ebbesberg is head of Hydro's Rolled Products business area. Ebbsberg, who has been the vice-chair of the European industry group since 2015, has been succeeded by Roberta Niboli, CEO of the Italian company Raffmetal for the 2017-18 term. The new appointments were announced at the European Aluminium's General Assembly held on October 26 in Antwerp, Belgium. Ebbsberg's association with Hydro dates back to 1996. He has worked as the company's chief financial officer for Metal Products, head of the Foundry Alloys unit and executive vice president of Metal Markets. 查看更多>>摘要:According to a new market research publication on global bauxite mining trends and outlook to 2020, the world bauxite reserves stood at 27.5 bn t as of January 2016. Guinea had the world's largest reserves, with 7.4 bn t, accounting for 26.9 % of the global total, with most bauxite deposits located in the western and central part of the country. Australia held the second largest reserves at 6.2 bn t. The highest grade bauxite reserves are located in Queensland and the Northern Territory, with the Weipa and Gove mines having grades of 49 to 53 % aluminium oxide. Brazil ranked third with 2.6 bn t of bauxite reserves, of which around 80 % are located in the Trombetas region.
查看更多>>摘要:Conventional gravity die-casting methods have not been able to realise the full, significant potential of high-strength, temperature-resistant aluminium foundry alloys. On the other hand, evolutionary process improvements are now asymptotically approaching what is technically possible even when taking into account the most recent metallurgical knowledge and optimisation of composition of these alloys. A paradigm change is unavoidable. Already now, dynamic casting methods produce much improved static and fatigue strength values even if solidification takes place only under atmospheric pressure. The proposed approach offers the possibility for mass production of even the most complex components such as cylinder heads in high- strength, temperature-resistant aluminium alloys which are generally classed as difficult or almost impossible to cast. The proposed method, which involves application of increased ambient pressure during the filling of the mould and solidification of the metal, is both viable and reliable for large series production.
