According to news reporting originating in Changsha, People's Republic of China, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "C urrently, the biological understanding of Crohn's disease (CD) remains limited. PANoptosis is a revolutionary form of cell death reported to participate in nume rous diseases, including CD." Financial supporters for this research include National Natural Science Foundati on of China, Natural Science Foundation of Hunan Province. The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Central South Univers ity, "In our study, we aimed to uncover the roles of PANoptosis in CD. Different ially expressed PANoptosis-related genes (DE-PRGs) were identified by overlappin g PANoptosis-related genes and differentially expressed genes between CD and nor mal samples in a combined microarray dataset. Three machine learning algorithms were adopted to detect hub DE-PRGs. To stratify the heterogeneity within CD pati ents, nonnegative matrix factorization clustering was conducted. In terms of imm une landscape analysis, the ‘ssGSEA' method was applied. qRT-PCR was performed t o examine the expression levels of the hub DE-PRGs in CD patients and colitis mo del mice. Ten hub DE-PRGs with satisfactory diagnostic performance were identifi ed and validated: CD44, CIDEC, NDRG1, NUMA1, PEA15, RAG1, S100A8, S100A9, TIMP1 and XBP1. These genes displayed significant associations with certain immune cel l types and CD-related genes. We also constructed gene-microRNA, gene-transcript ion factor and drug-gene interaction networks. CD samples were classified into t wo PANoptosis patterns according to the expression levels of the hub DE-PRGs."

查看更多>>摘要:By a News Reporter-Staff News Editor at Robotics & Machine Learning Daily News Daily News-Fresh data on artificial intelligence are presented in a new report. According to news reporting originating from Seou l, South Korea, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "In this study, we pr esent a novel approach to derive hand poses from data input via a haptic control ler, leveraging machine learning techniques." Funders for this research include Institute of Information And Communications Te chnology Planning And Evaluation; Seoul Women's University. Our news reporters obtained a quote from the research from Department of Digital Media: "The input values received from the haptic controller correspond to the movement of five fingers, each assigned a value between 0.0 and 1.0 based on the applied pressure. The wide array of possible finger movements requires a substa ntial amount of motion capture data, making manual data integration difficult. T his challenge is primary due to the need to process and incorporate large volume s of diverse movement information. To tackle this challenge, our proposed method automates the process by utilizing machine learning algorithms to convert hapti c controller inputs into hand poses. This involves training a machine learning m odel using supervised learning, where hand poses are matched with their correspo nding input values, and subsequently utilizing this trained model to generate ha nd poses in response to user input."

According to news reporting originating in Innsbruck, A ustria, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "It is useful for machines to kn ow whether text information remains valid or not for various applications includ ing text comprehension, story understanding, temporal information retrieval, and user state tracking on microblogs as well as via chatbot conversations. This ki nd of inference is still difficult for current models, including also large lang uage models, as it requires temporal commonsense knowledge and reasoning." Financial support for this research came from University of Innsbruck and Medica l University of Innsbruck. The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from the University of Inn sbruck, "We approach in this paper the task of Temporal Validity Reassessment, i nspired by traditional natural language reasoning to determine the updates of th e temporal validity of text content. The task requires judgment whether actions expressed in a sentence are still ongoing or rather completed, hence, whether th e sentence still remains valid or has become obsolete, given the presence of con text in the form of a supplementary content such as a follow-up sentence. We fir st construct our own dataset for this task and train several machine learning mo dels. Then we propose an effective method for learning information from an exter nal knowledge base that gives information regarding temporal commonsense knowled ge. Using our prepared dataset, we introduce a machine learning model that incor porates the information from the knowledge base and demonstrate that incorporati ng external knowledge generally improves the results."

According to news reporting originating in Atlanta, Geo rgia, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing a s a Directed Energy Deposition technology has disruptive potential for modern ma nufacturing. The technology comes with the flexibility and material efficiency o f additive manufacturing processes while mitigating the disadvantages through hi gh material deposition rates and high energy efficiency." Financial support for this research came from Morris M. Bryan, Jr. Professorship . The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from the Georgia Institute of Technology, "However, the prevalence of the technology is inhibited by its g eometrical inaccuracy and the large induced residual stresses. This work tackles the former problem by capturing the process parametergeometry relationship usin g Machine Learning. To do so, multiple mild steel welding beads with varying sha pe features like corner angles are printed using a Metal Inert Gas welding machi ne attached to an industrial robot. The cross-sectional profile of the printed b eads is measured using a point laser sensor and correlated through a Multilayer Perceptron to input features such as travel speed, wire feed speed, and shape fe atures. By incorporating varying corner angles, a holistic model, not limited to geometry prediction of straight beads only, is trained. Using the model, excess material at the inner angle of corners determined by the overlapping regions of the two adjacent beads can be predicted."
