According to news originating from the National Institute of Technology by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, “Any faults in power electronic switc hes must be detected and located promptly to certify the unchanging operation an d reliability of multilevel inverter (MLI) systems.” The news reporters obtained a quote from the research from National Institute of Technology: “Machine learning (ML) techniques are increasingly being utilized t o diagnose faults in MLIs due to their advantages, such as high precision, less calculation time, and reduced complexity. A faulty switch identification and pha se identification method based on different ML classifiers is presented in this paper, explicitly targeting open-circuit faults in switches in a PV-fed 3-phase three-level Neutral Point Clamped (NPC) inverter. The NPC MLI output voltage and current signals are input signals to classify faults. The information or essent ial feature from the raw voltage and current data is extracted using a recursive discrete Fourier (RDF) followed by a discrete wavelet transform (DWT). Finally, the standard deviations of the approximate and detailed coefficients are used a s input for ML algorithms. To do the comparative analysis, a variety of ML techn iques are then applied to these features, including logistic regression (LR), ra ndom forest (RF), quadratic discriminate analysis (QDA), K-nearest neighbour (K- NN), and support vector machines (SVM).”

According to news originating from Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, by NewsRx editors, the research stated, “Quadruped robots, with their superior terrain adaptability and flexible movement capabilities, demonstrate gr eater application potential in complex environments compared to traditional grou nd robots.” The news editors obtained a quote from the research from Fudan University: “Howe ver, their nonnegligible body shape and anisotropic motion characteristics comp licate the achievement of high-precision motion planning and autonomous navigati on. In this paper, we propose a safe and robust motion planning system tailored for autonomous navigation of quadruped robots in cluttered environments. We adop t a hierarchical architecture and decompose the planning process into front-end searching and back-end optimization. In the front-end searching stage, the robot finds a smooth, feasible, and energy-efficient initial trajectory with safety c onsideration. In the back-end optimization stage, we leverage B-splines to enhan ce the trajectory smoothness, safety, and motion stability. Finally, the time al location is fine-tuned through iterative refinement, ensuring the feasibility of the optimized trajectory.”

According to news reporting out of Chouaib Doukkali University by NewsRx editors, research stated, “The development of new image descriptor has always b een an important topic to improve the efficiency of content- based image classif ication and retrieval.” The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Chouaib Doukkali University: “Improvements and developments in machine learning and deep learnin g algorithms as well as artificial intelligence algorithms are widely used by re searchers to obtain effective CBIR descriptors. In our article, we will present a robust image descriptor, extended by machine learning and deep learning algori thms. The descriptor is provided through a Gaussian derivative filter scaffold n amed GDF-HOG with an enhanced convolutional neural network (CNN) AlexNet, to red uce the dimensions we used the principal component analysis algorithm. The exper imental results were carried out on Oliva and Torralba, Caltech-101, Wang and Co il100 datasets. Experiments show that the accuracy of the proposed method is 98. 23% for Coil-100 %, 95.92% for Corel-100 0, value 87.17 and 94.6% for Oliva and Torralba.”

According to news reporting from Dublin, Ireland, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, “The patient concerns inventory (PCI) al lows patients to highlight the issues they would like to discuss at their outpat ient consultation. It improves patient-clinician communication and has proven be nefits.” The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from St. James Hospit al, “While the PCI is effective, patient experiences could be improved with bett er access to it and the ability to more easily and frequently express their conc erns. This, of course, is in the context of ever-increasing healthcare challenge s and limited resources. Use of conversational artificial intelligence (CAI) rep resents an opportunity to improve information flow between patients and professi onals remote from the consultation. This paper highlights the potential for CAI to provide an ‘always-on’ platform, using natural language interface technology and based on the PCI, which patients can access via their mobile devices.”
