Funders for this research include National Key Research & Developm ent Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from the Beijing Institu te of Technology, "Object graphs, considering semantic uncertainties, are constr ucted for both the incoming camera frame and the pre-built map. Objects are repr esented as graph nodes, and each node employs unique semantic descriptors based on our devised graph kernels. We extract a subgraph from the target map graph by identifying potential object associations for each object detection, then refin e these associations and pose estimations using a RANSAC-inspired strategy."

According to news reporting from London, United Ki ngdom, by NewsRx journalists, research stated, "Idiopathic normal pressure hydro cephalus (iNPH) is a reversible cause of dementia, typically treated with shunt surgery, although outcomes vary. Artificial intelligence (AI) advancements could improve predictions of shunt response (SR) by analyzing extensive data sets." The news correspondents obtained a quote from the research from Imperial College London, "We conducted a systematic review to assess AI's effectiveness in predi cting SR in iNPH. Studies using AI or machine learning (ML) algorithms for SR pr ediction were identified through searches in MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Web of Science up to September 2023, adhering to Synthesis Without Meta-Analysis reporting gui delines. Out of 3541 studies identified, 33 were assessed for eligibility, and 8 involving 479 patients were included. Study sample sizes varied from 28 to 132 patients. Common data inputs included imaging/radiomics (62.5%) and demographics (37.5%), with Support Vector Machine being the most f requently used ML algorithm (87.5%). Two studies compared multiple algorithms. Only four studies reported the Area Under the Curve (AUC) values, wh ich ranged between 0.80 and 0.94. The results highlighted inconsistency in outco me measures, data heterogeneity, and potential biases in the models used. While AI shows promise for improving iNPH management, there is a need for standardized data and extensive validation of AI models to enhance their clinical utility."

According to news originating from Vancouver, Canada, by NewsRx corresponden ts, research stated, "Robots are challenging the traditional paradigm of constru ction. Current concerns revolve around their capabilities to finish complex assi gnments within dynamic, unstructured construction settings." Financial supporters for this research include Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), China Scholarship Council. Our news journalists obtained a quote from the research from the University of B ritish Columbia, "Teleoperated robots harness human intelligence for dextrous ma nipulation, allowing robots to execute complex tasks onsite. It requires a real- time connection between human control and robot actions, which is largely achiev ed using specific controllers with low degree-of-freedom (DoF). To achieve intui tive and generalizable teleoperation, this work proposes a framework for morphol ogy agnostic gesture mapping between human hands and high DoF robots. Initially, we estimate 3D positions of hands using parametric hand models from images. Sub sequently, pose information of the human hand is mapped onto robots through reta rgeting methods for real-time control."

According to news reporting originating from Zhengzhou, People's Rep ublic of China, by NewsRx correspondents, research stated, "Fiber-reinforced pol ymer (FRP) bars are gaining popularity as an alternative to steel reinforcement due to their advantages such as corrosion resistance and high strength-to-weight ratio. However, FRP has a lower modulus of elasticity compared to steel." Financial support for this research came from Zhengzhou University. Our news editors obtained a quote from the research from Zhengzhou University, " Therefore, special attention is required in structural design to address deflect ion related issues and ensure ductile failure. This research explores the use of machine learning algorithms such as gene expression programming (GEP) to develo p a simple and effective equation for predicting the elastic modulus of hybrid f iber-reinforced polymer (HFPR) bars. A comprehensive database of 125 experimenta l results of HFPR bars was used for training and validation. Statistical paramet ers such as R2, MAE, RRSE, and RMSE are used to judge the accuracy of the develo ped model. Also, parametric analysis and SHAP analysis have been carried out to reveal the most influential factors in the predictive model. Finally, the propos ed model was compared to the available equations for elastic modulus. The result s demonstrate that the developed GEP model performance is better than that of th e traditional formula. Statistical parameters and K-fold cross-validation ensure d the accuracy and reliability of the predictive model."
