    CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF Dalbergia odorifera

    查看更多>>摘要:Dalbergia odorifera T.C.Chen,also known as Jiangxiang,is one of the secondary protected plants in China and is mainly distributed in southern China.In China,D.odorifera T.Chen is mainly used for the treatment of swelling,blood diseases,rheumatic pain,and cardiovascular diseases.Prior research shows that the main chemical components of D.odorifera are flavonoids and volatile oil(1).The literature reports many pharmacological properties of the plant,such as vasodilation,antibacterial,antitumor,antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,and analgesic(2).However,the tree species of D.odorifera grow slowly.In the long growth process,its branches and leaves are discarded,hence the resource utilization is low.The wood of D,odorifera has been extensively studied and applied,but few chemical compounds have been found in the leaves,branches,and flowers(3,4).In this study,the leaves and branches of D.odorifera have been investigated,resulting in the isolation of 15 known bioactive compounds comprising five aliphatics,four aromatics,four flavonoids,one triterpene,and one sulfur compound:dioslupecin(1)(5),4-hydroxybenzaldehyde(2)(6),1,4-diethykyclohexane(3)(7),7,2'-dihydroxy-4'-methoxyisoflavanol(4)(8),4-methoxybenzoic acid(5)(9),o-phthalic acid bis-(2-ethyldecyl)ester(6)(10),5-hydroxy-3,4-dimethyl-5-pentylfuran-2(5H)-one(7)(11),4-(4',4'-dimethyl-2'-vinyldecyl)benzene-1,2-diol(8)(12),bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ether(9)(13),n-octacosanol(10)(14),tetracosanoic acid(11)[15],2-hydroxyethyl sulfamate(12)(16),biochanin A(13)(17),prunetin(14)(18),and genistein(15)(19).This is the first study on compounds isolated from this species.

    查看更多>>摘要:Polyscias fruticosa(L.)Harms(Araliaceae)is widespread in Africa and tropical countries(1).As a traditional Vietnamese medicine,R fruticosa leaves have been used as a tonic agent for the treatment of ischemia and inflammation(2).Previous studies shown that P,fruticosa leaf extracts exhibit a variety of biological functions,including analgesic,antipyretic,molluscicidal,anti-inflammatory,and antidiabetic activities(3,4).Some chemical constituents of this plant have been reported previously(5-8).However,the chemical constituents from the nonpolar extracts were scarce.In our chemical investigation of this plant,nine compounds(1-9)were isolated from the diethyl ether fraction of P.fruticosa leaves.ID NMR chemical shifts of C-1,C-5,and C-14 of 5 were reassigned based on detailed analysis of 2D NMR data.Compounds 1,3,5,and 7 were evaluated for cytotoxicity against HepG2 and K562 cancer cell lines,but none of them showed considerable cytotoxicity.To the best of our knowledge,compounds 3-9 were isolated from this plant for the first time,while compounds 5 and 6 were first isolated from the genus Polyscias.

    查看更多>>摘要:Виды poдa Juglans L.(орех)ceмeйcтвa Juglandaceae-перспективный источник антибактериальных препаратов,биологическая активность которых в основном обусловлена нафтохинонами,среди которых в центре внимания находится юглон(1-7).Наиболее изученным видом является орех грецкий(Juglans regia L.),широко культивируемый во многих странах мира(2,4,8).В этом отношении большой интерес представляют и другие виды родa Juglans,в том числе орех черный(Juglans nigra L.),также широко культивируемый,в том числе в Российской Федерации(2,4,8).По литературным данным,потенциальным источником биологически активных соединений являются плоды,листья и кора J,nigra,которые наряду с нафтохинонами содержат флавоноиды(3,5,9).В этом отношении изучены только листья данного растения,содержащие мирицитрин,мирицетин и кверцитрин(9).

    查看更多>>摘要:Marine endophytic fungi,including mangrove fungi,have attracted considerable interest as a potential source of bioactive natural products and have contributed significantly to drug discovery(1,2).One of the fungal genus that is especially productive with regard to the accumulation of a diverse array of mostly bioactive compounds is Pestalotiopsis(2,3).The literature has revealed that the most abundant metabolic types of genus Pestalotiopsis sp.are alkaloids,steroids,terpenoids,coumarins,chromones,quinines,and lactones.Most of them are potential leads for the treatment of human diseases and control of plant diseases.Bioassays have disclosed that antifungal(4),antimalaria(5),phytotoxic(6),cytotoxic(7),anti-HIV(8),antimicrobial(9),and plant-growth regulating(10)activities are the most notable bioactivities of secondary metabolites isolated from this genus.These compounds may have potential applications in modern medicine,agriculture,and the food industry.

    查看更多>>摘要:Actinobacteria are microscopic soil microbes and are well known for their ability to produce a wide variety of secondary metabolites with antimicrobial,insecticidal,and many other bioactivities,which are becoming important resources of new pharmaceuticals and lead compounds(1-3),They are gram positive,free-living saprophytic bacteria that are found widely distributed in soil,water,and colonizing plants.Actinobacteria inhabitants have been identified as one of the major groups of soil population(2,3),which may vary with the soil type.The genus most frequently found in this order is the genus Streptomyces,whose many secondary metabolites have often been explored.The actinobacteria are noteworthy as antibiotic producers and the Streptomyces sp.are especially prolific and can produce a great many antibiotics and a variety of bioactive secondary metabolites.In the course of our search for biologically active substances from mangrove soil-derived actinobacteria,we isolated a strain named 06182M-1~T from a soil sample of Chiayi County,Taiwan with a unique morphology(4).This strain was determined to be e Isoptericola chiayiensis(Promicromonosporaceae)based on their phenotypic and genotypic data(4).The Promicromonosporaceae(Actinomycetales,Actinobacteria)constitutes a large family of bacteria.In order to find new bioactive molecules,rare genera in this group have been identified and studied,including the genus Isoptericola.Isoptericola,a genus of bacteria that was only discovered in 2004; currently there are only eight species.It is an actinobacteria that resembles bacteria in morphology.There are no aerial hyphae.The vegetative hyphae will break into short rods or globules that are not motile.Some species are anaerobic or facultative anaerobic.Mainly isolated from high-salinity soil,termite intesthes,limestone or general soil,and other environments,there are few studies on its metabolites.This strain is a new strain isolated from the mangrove wetland in Chiayi County.

    查看更多>>摘要:Endophytic fungi are microorganisms that live in living plant tissue for all or certain stages of their life cycle without causing obvious diseases in plants(1).It is of great significance and value to study endophytic fungi that have been considered to be a repository of a variety of novel natural products(2).In previous studies,it was found that Talaromyces can metabolize various novel structural compounds,including alkaloids,peptides,esters,polyketides,quinones,steroid,terpenoids,etc.(3).For example,Chen et al.found four previously undescribed meroterpenoids,amestolkolides A-D from T.amestolkiae wtih anti-inflammatory activity(4); Zhao et al.isolated six new nonadride derivatives and three new spirocyclic anhydride derivatives from T.purpurogenus with antiinflammatory activity(5).In addition,some lines of evidence showed that changing fermentation conditions,such as the alteration of fermentation medias,could lead to a change of the biosynthetic pathways,and some new compounds would appear.For example,by changing the fermentation medium,a series of novel compounds,including secovironolide(6),deacetylisowortmins Aand В(7),and wortmannolol(8),has been obtained by us.To get more novel natural compounds,we studied the chemical constituents of Talaromyces ruber,which was cultured in two media(PDB and corn medium).T ruber was purchased from China Center of Industrial Culture Collection(http://www.china-cicc.org/)in December 2018 and was identified as Talaromyces ruber by comparing the ITS sequence splicing result with T ruber.The strain was cultivated in PDB medium(50 L)for 5 days at 28℃ in a fermentor.The fermenting broth was filtered,and the filtrate was extracted with EtOAc(50 L × 3)to yield a crude extract(12 g).The crude extract was subjected to a series of chromatographic techniques using silica gel(mesh 200-300),Sephadex LH-20,and MCI-CHP20P gel,and HPLC separation(Jasco HPLC apparatus with one PU980 pump and one X-LC 3075 UV detector,YMC-Pack ODS-Acolumn,250 × 10 mm,5 μm)to yield nine compounds(1-9).T ruber was also cultured in com medium(100 conical bottles filled with 80 g corn and 100 mL water)for 40 days at 28℃ in a constant-temperature incubator.The fermentation product was extracted with ethyl acetate to get a crude extract(40 g).The crude extract was subjected to a series of chromatographic separations to yield seven compounds(10-16).All compounds were identified based on NMR spectra.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first report on the chemical constituents of T ruber.The activities of these compounds against monoamine oxidase(MAO)(9),acetykholinesterase(AChE)(10),and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase(PI3K)(11)were evaluated.Compound 3 showed moderate activity against monoamine oxidase with IC_(50)of 139.4 μg/mL,and compound 5 has weak activity against PI3K a with IC_(50)of 535 μg/mL.The other compounds showed no activity against these three enzymes.

    查看更多>>摘要:Hylotelephium erythrostictum(Miq.)H.Ohba belongs to Crassulaceae,a kind of landscape plants.Its amenability to mature artificial cultivation technology,hardiness,and resistance to different weather conditions attracted our interest.More encouragingly,a number of experts have focused on the antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,and antibacterial activity of H.erythrostictum(1-4).To the best of our knowledge,the chemical constituents of plants from the genus Hylotelephium have not been reported with respect to its petroleum ether extract(5).

    查看更多>>摘要:Bacterial quorum sensing(QS)is generally referred to as cell-to-cell communication where specific signals(auto-inducing peptide,acyl-homoserine lactone,etc.)are activated to synchronize pathogenicity and facilitate bacteria to make biofilms(1).Biofilm formation also produces basic changes in gene expression and thus contributes towards antibiotic resistance(2),The genus Seriphidium consists of 125 species reported from various parts of the world,including Asia,Europe,and North America(3),and mainly includes medicinal plants(4)that are traditionally used for treating G.I.T disorders(5)and scabies and that have antimicrobial,antidiabetic,and antihypertensive properties(6).The plant Seriphidium quettense(Podlech)Y.R.Ling is endemic to Balochistan Province of Pakistan and traditionally employed for the treatment of various G.I.T problems(7).Various compounds have previously been isolated,including ilicic acid(2)and 6a-hydroxy-8(10)-oplopen-)4-one,from leaves that showed excellent anti urease activity(8).This is the first report that describes anti-quorum sensing and anti-biofilm properties of 5.quettense essential oil(EO).

    查看更多>>摘要:The genus Schefflera J.R.Forst.& G.Forst.(Araliaceae)is comprised of about 550-600 species,with greater species diversity in the tropical and subtropical regions of the world(1,2),Schefflera venulosa(Wight & Arn.)Harms is an evergreen shrub occurring in forests along streams,rivers,and in mangrove swamps,which often tend to be scandent and epiphytic in nature.The species is distributed in India,Myanmar,Indo-China,W.S.China,Bangladesh,and some parts of the Malay Peninsula.The stems and leaves of the plant are used in Chinese folk medicine for the treatment of arthritis and headache(3).In India,different parts of the plant are used in traditional medicine for treatment of rheumatism(4),dropsy and paralysis(5),and foot and mouth diseases of livestock(6),The extract of the plant has a variety of biological activities,including spermicidal,antioxidant,and anticancer properties(7,8).Though several triterpenes,sesquiterpenes,glycosides,and steroids from the leaf extract of the species have been isolated and identified(9,10),no report is yet available on the presence of essential oil in the leaves.Therefore,this is the first report on the chemical composition and antioxidant activity of the leaf essential oil of Schefflera venulosa.

    查看更多>>摘要:Cryptocarya,a pantropical genus of the family Lauraceae,is comprised of about 300 species of evergreen trees distributed in tropical and subtropical regions of the world(1).The species of this genus have been widely used in traditional medicines for treating sore muscles,fever,headache,joint pain,and nausea(2-4).Some species of Cryptocarya are economically important as they are used for house construction,furniture,pulp,and perfumes(5).Many species have oil glands in the leaves,and some also have oil glands in their bark and wood(6).Cryptocarya amygdalina Nees is a medium sized tree distributed in Southern China,Bhutan,Myanmar,Thailand,Peninsular Malaysia,Indonesia,NE India,Odisha,and Andaman Islands.The species is considered as rare in distribution in India.Its wood is hard,flexible,and used as timber,firewood,and for making agricultural implements and tea boxes(7),The bark extract of the species possesses spasmolytic activity(8).Despite its medicinal and other utilitarian values,no study has yet been made on the chemical constituents and antioxidant potential of essential oil of this plant.
