    查看更多>>摘要：William Golding,the Nobel Prize winner,depicts civilization and savagery,democracy and anarchy,reconstruction and destruction vividly in his masterpiece Lord of the Flies.Providing a more cogent interpretation of Lord of the Flies,this thesis is intended to demonstrate and analyze the descriptive construction of society from the perspective of political philosophy.Following the view of Thomas Hobbes' theory,the thesis makes a comparison between Lord of the Flies and Leviathan by focusing on state of na-ture,law of nature,social contract and common wealth. The study reveals that the commonwealth originates from a conflict that the contradiction in human nature.Hence considering the evil nature of human beings,the state of commonwealth is indispensable for hu-man existence and sustainability which arouse the reflection of the civilization order and regime.

    Soil Contamination Analysis of Chromium Cadmium and Lead in the South Lake Park of Changchun City

    查看更多>>摘要：Due to the importance of environment to the health of people living around,in this work,we studied the possible con-tamination of heavy metals to the soil in the South Lake Park in Changchun City.Significantly,based on the elementary analysis,it was found that the contamination of heavy metals,such as Chromium ( Cr) ,Cadmium ( Cd) ,and Lead ( Pb) ,to the soil in this park is negligible,indicating that it is safe for people living around there.

    Three Methods in the Translation of the English Idiom

    查看更多>>摘要：Different countries have different idioms.And the idioms always reflect the culture of the country.They cover daily life and the people's attitudes toward the society and nature.As people all live in the same world and share the same nature,idioms of the similar meaning in different languages can be easily found.Some English idioms are similar in meaning to the Chinese ones.In this paper,three methods used in translating the English idioms into Chinese ones are being discussed.First of all,some English idioms having matches in the Chinese language And such English idioms can be translated into the Chinese ones.Secondly,the English idi-oms that should be translated directly.Thirdly,the English idioms that should be translated differently in different sentences.There-fore,when an idiom is being translated,the translator should consider the above-mentioned three methods.
